What Is Presence-Based Coaching?

Presence-based coaching is a unique form of life coaching that centers on building your self-awareness and ability to be present. In our sessions, we won’t just talk about your goals (though we’ll do that too) – we will also practice how you approach each moment. It’s about who you are being, not just what you are doing.

Using techniques drawn from mindfulness, somatic awareness (connecting with the body), and positive psychology, I will guide you through experiences of presence. For example, we might do a short guided mindfulness exercise to help you tune into your breathing and bodily sensations. This trains your attention “muscle.” We might explore powerful questions that make you reflect deeply and uncover blind spots in your thinking. We could even use a bit of neuroscience – explaining, say, how focusing on your breath can calm your brain’s stress response – to help you understand why a practice works.

All of these methods are secular and practical. You don’t need any background in meditation or any spiritual beliefs. If you can commit a few minutes a day to simple practices, you can do this coaching.

Each session is a safe, supportive space where you are the focus. My role as your coach is like a friendly guide: I’ll help you stay accountable, gently bring you back to the present when your mind wanders, and challenge you (with compassion) to see yourself more clearly. Over time, you’ll find you’ve built a stronger “presence muscle.” Things that used to trigger you or distract you will have less power, and you’ll navigate life’s ups and downs with more grace and groundedness.

Hello, I’m Diyanat Ali. I’ve been a Transformational Life Coach for over 15 years, and I specialize in what I call presence-based coaching. My passion is to empower individuals to find contentment, clarity, and progress by living more consciously. I’m certified in transformational coaching and have extensive training in mindfulness and somatic techniques. But more importantly, I have walked this path myself.

A few years ago, I realized I was constantly busy but not truly present. This realization led me to mindfulness and personal development practices that changed my life – I became calmer, more focused, and more connected to the people around me. I integrated these principles into my coaching because I knew others could benefit from them without any religious or spiritual strings attached.

Over the past decade, I’ve helped professionals, students, homemakers, and entrepreneurs from India and abroad cultivate self-awareness and presence. My approach is warm, empathetic, and down-to-earth. We’ll probably share a laugh in our sessions (growth doesn’t have to be grim!), and we’ll definitely share many insights.
