About the SelfCraft Personal Transformation Journey:

The truth of who you are is burried deep in your self and selfcraft is a self discovery quest to get to our own true inner nature through a process of Introspection and Inquiry.  The Journey of selfcraft is a rites of passage set in the beautiful wilderness and villages of  Maharashtra, India.

Ultimate Truth is Wordless, the Silence within the Silence” - Pirke Avot

The self is our unique way of being in this world. In this Journey we are going to meet our primordial inner nature, embraced in the womb and arms of mother nature.  In doing so we shall discover connection with our own self, our lost heritage within and without and access our freedom to achieve self improvement, personal growth and liberation.

Our key to our salvation, healing, and awakening is within and only we can discover it. When you discover the reason you were missing something in your life, you may end up discovering that who you were actually missing was yourself.

The privilege of a lifetime is being who you are. — Joseph Campbell

We shall see nature and its elements as wise elders, we shall listen and learn from their manifest wisdom. The odyssey of self exploration, self discovery and self actualization involves specially curated esoteric experiential  and nature based practices, exercises, rituals, and ceremonies.

All practices are secular and invitational in nature. The practices shall focus on connecting with the inner world through the body, emotion, mind, and the human spirit. The intention behind all the practices is to support participants to  find their own answer to the question of  "Who am I? What is my true nature? What matters to me most? What do I care most about? What is my true purpose?" through a deep personal inquiry and self-discovery process.

Understanding the concept of self-discovery

Self-discovery is more than a mere exploration of oneself; it's a transformative journey that leads to profound self-awareness and personal growth. It involves peeling back the layers of societal conditioning, external influences, and past experiences to reveal the authentic self that lies beneath. Understanding the concept of self-discovery requires a willingness to delve deep into our thoughts, emotions, and belief systems, fostering a conscious connection with our innermost selves. This process unveils our values, passions, strengths, and weaknesses, providing a solid foundation for self-crafting.

Self-discovery is a continuous, evolving process that allows us to uncover new facets of our identity and purpose as we navigate the various stages of life. It empowers us to embrace change, confront fears, and transcend limitations, ultimately leading to a heightened sense of clarity and purpose. By understanding the essence of self-discovery, we set the stage for a profound transformation that paves the way for self-crafting a life that aligns with our true aspirations and potential.

Embarking on the journey of self-discovery requires an open mind, a willingness to embrace vulnerability, and a commitment to introspection. It's an exploration of the self that transcends surface-level introspection, diving deep into the core of our being to unearth the essence of who we are and who we aspire to become. This understanding lays the groundwork for embarking on a purposeful and enriching journey toward self-crafting.

The importance of embarking on a journey of self-discovery

The journey of self-discovery holds immense significance in shaping our lives, relationships, and overall well-being. It serves as a catalyst for personal growth, self-empowerment, and the cultivation of authentic living. By embarking on this transformative expedition, we gain profound insights into our intrinsic motivations, aspirations, and values, enabling us to make conscious decisions that align with our true selves.

Self-discovery ignites a deeper connection with our emotions, allowing us to navigate through life with heightened emotional intelligence, empathy, and resilience. It fosters a sense of inner harmony, enabling us to approach challenges with clarity and conviction. Furthermore, the journey of self-discovery cultivates a heightened sense of compassion and understanding, not only toward ourselves but also toward others, nurturing meaningful and authentic connections.

In the realm of personal and professional development, self-discovery serves as the cornerstone for unleashing untapped potential and honing our unique talents. It propels us toward fulfilling our aspirations, embracing opportunities for growth, and charting a course toward a purpose-driven existence. Moreover, the ripple effects of self-discovery extend beyond individual transformation, influencing our interactions, contributions to society, and the legacy we leave behind.

Who is the Transformational Journey for:

The self transformative expedition is for Wo/men/others of 25 years and above.
It will appeal to men/women/others in any profession and life stage but, more importantly, to those who intend to journey within or are already on the path of self discovery and self transformation.

This program is offered only once a year. Only 10 participants are taken into the programme.

What will be the Self Growth Experiences in the Journey:

Selfcraft is a disruptive and deeply personal tranformational journey to align with ones authentic self. In this sacred journey, we shall attempt to create a space to discover an expanded meaning of ourselves, others, nature, the higher good and discover a sacred connection with life. We shall create a trusted  liminal space where we speak from our hearts and share both our joys and pains, where we may listen and receive empathically from our deeper and open hearts . We may also practice and reinforce some sacred life standards with care, kindness, compassion, love and freedom.

No matter where the hero goes and what his adventure entails, his journey is always an inner journey of self-discovery, and his goal is always that of character development.” ~Joseph Campbell

We shall have opportunities to interact with the elements of nature  and participate in a set of exercises and ceremonies, and that may expand our inner wisdom, heal our wounds, awaken our inner voice and free us from some of the past conditioning that controls our lives.

We may also practice several rituals and self-attunement practices that may enable us to open ourselves up to the experience of developing a wholesome self- presence. We may return with our higher self the gift of freedom  for ourselves, those we love, and humanity at large.

The desire to know your own self will lay to rest all other desires - Rumi

What Self Transformation can one Harvest:

The single intention and goal of selfcraft is to find ones truth, higher self, fully and completely live one's own identity by relaising and expressing  from the core of ones our being. The other intentions are to have a positive mental health, wellbeing, a  healthy sense of self, a free will and a presence based life that  honours and integrates ones aspects of body, emotion, mind, self,  shadow and the spirit.

Selfcraft Journey offers a possibility for marking significant life changes for participants, to develop Self-awareness and connect with self: self realization, closures to conversations, and relations. It offers a space to bring a creative and epistemic shift in consciousness, self-perceptions, and core beliefs leading to enhanced self-awareness, personal mastery, self-leadership, mindful presence, wholesomeness, and greater meaning in lives, family, and work. It may foster self-integration at different levels.

The Goal of life is to make your heartbeat match the beat of the universe, to match your nature with Nature - Joseph Campbell

An overall deeper understanding and connection with one's body, emotions, needs, values, and other selves/participants and nature is offered through the journey. Most Importantly find personal liberation through the acceptance of our aloneness and relate with self and others from a place of freedom and love.

Selfcraft is offered to help you develop a greater presence in mind, body, feeling, spirit, and speech and connect with yourself and your awareness in a fully embodied authentic presence.

On a more personal level, participants will find opportunites to identify the standards they wish to bring to their lives in terms of actions to help them be who they wish to be. And, most importantly, a community of journeyers to belong to.

Where do we go, when we’re lost—when the humans around us (much as we love them) can’t seem to help us? We go where we’ve been taught to forget to go. Where our ancestors have always gone. To the woods and the old ways. To the hedgelands and edgelands; to the threshold places and liminal zones. We go looking for the Others who dwell there; we go listening for the murmurs of the dreaming land. We go looking for a wisdom that’s wilder and wiser than our own. - Sharon Blackie

Journey within with selfcraft

Navigating through obstacles on the path to self-craft

The path to self-craft is often punctuated by obstacles and challenges that test our resolve and commitment to self-discovery. Internal barriers, such as self-doubt, fear of change, and ingrained belief systems, can impede our journey toward authentic living. Navigating through these obstacles requires cultivating resilience, self-compassion, and a willingness to confront discomfort with courage and conviction.

Societal expectations, external pressures, and the influence of cultural and religious norms can pose formidable challenges on the path to self-craft. Overcoming these external barriers necessitates setting clear boundaries, asserting our autonomy, and fostering a steadfast commitment to honoring our authentic selves. It involves cultivating a sense of empowerment, assertiveness, and the courage to defy societal conventions that hinder our self-expression and personal growth.

Navigating through obstacles on the path to self-craft entails a relationship with a supportive community and guides to navigate through uncertainties and setbacks. Surrounding oneself with individuals who champion authenticity, growth, and self-empowerment fosters a nurturing environment for overcoming challenges and fostering personal transformation. By navigating through internal and external obstacles with resilience and determination, individuals pave the way for crafting a life that resonates with their true essence.

Seek the wisdom that can untie your knot, seek the path that can unfold your whole being - rumi

B. Journey Stage

1. Separation Phase

The Separation or Severance phase is about leaving everything behind. Separation begins as soon as you feel the call to a new adventure, a quest to find your true identity.

It is the phase of preparing to leave everything behind, gathering together just what you may need for your journey. You are preparing to leave a known life while the unknown awaits you.

When you are able to leave things behind, you are no longer identified with forms, attachments, identities and as a result, who you are becomes Free. This freedom is the arising of your inner space, your stillness, a subtle inner peace that lies deep within you, and known as Presence or Being. This leads to the rising of awareness that you are conscious.

You may be able to realize your true identity as an all-pervasive presence and being, which is distinct from all forms and identifications, leading to inner peace and contentment.

For some, they may go through an inner separation from inner identification of the ego; for others, it would be to complete the self's separation leading to individuation.

What we are about to undertake is an expedition together, a journey of discovery into the most secret recesses of our consciousness. And for such an adventure, we must travel light. We cannot burden ourselves with opinions, prejudices, conclusions — that is, with all the baggage that we have collected over the past two thousand years or more. Forget everything you know about yourself. Forget everything that you have thought about yourself. We are going to set off as if we know nothing.” —Krishnamurti

Selfcraft Journey Wheel

2. Transition Phase

Transition or Threshold or Passaging is the time between the leaving behind the known and embracing the unknown  with its newer discoveries. This is the time of solitude, hunger, exposure, and the powerful trials that will test your human spirit and your purpose to transition to what you have come for.

Here Time can slow down, and the stillness of nature can be very powerful. As your thoughts begin to empty out, you can look into the pool of your own being, noticing how you are, what your dreams are made of, what you need to let go of.

This is also a time for adaptability to the natural environment, even if it is hard because adaptability is very essential to survive in life. During the transition period, you will live simply in nature, learning her lessons, as human beings have done for thousands of years. In this phase, you lay the old to rest and breed on a new self. This is a unique encounter with yourself and nature.

Your Heart Knows the way - Walk in that direction - Rumi

3. Reunion Phase

The Reunion or Incorporation or Arrival phase begins with integration, assimilation, and incorporation of new standards and preparation to return to a new life. You have to come off the wilderness and return to family, friends, and community.

This may be the hardest part of the journey! To live the hard-won knowledge and insight you've found will take courage, but the world needs the gift of your understanding and insight. The Quest was not only about you but about your family, people, and community.

Love is the Bridge between you and everything - Rumi

After the end of the 11 days, journey participants may enter the creation phase.

C. Creation Phase

A task without a vision is just a job
a vision without a task is just a dream
a vision with a task can change the world. - Winston Churchill

The creation phase is about stepping fully into ones Being and wholesomeness and visioning one's life by taking necessary actions that lead to the manifestation of the newfound gifts and vision.

This would involve imagining, leveraging innate potential, planning, and creating by taking actions to bring alive the intentions and create impact for self, others, and the community.

During the creation phase, the circle can choose to support each other and practice the sacred standards they adopted. Monthly meetings, sharing circles, and coaching sessions can support the circle beyond the selfcraft journey to continue the creation.

Written Testimonials

It was during one of those tornado phases of my life when I was overwhelmed with deep anguish, struggling to find my answer to “ Why am I on this earth/in this life”? that I met Diyanat and he agreed to support my self-quest journey.

“What do you want to do with this question? Engage with it? let it go? What is your calling?” And then every session/conversation was deep empathetic listening and a series of questions, tough to delve in, engage with yet raised gently with care and compassion.

His rich repertoire of knowledge, experience, skills and tools- he holds expertise in, right from textual knowledge on self realization/discovery processes to developmental psychology, principles and processes of behavior change, energy work principles, esoteric practices, human design, shamanic processes, practices and rituals has left me inspired to continue learning and growing. Even more
importantly the wisdom and humility with which he uses them, in service of self discovery process.

While Diyanat held space for me as I was moving from one stage of behavior to another, by providing reference readings, tools, processes and practices he maintained very firmly I took charge of my journey and progress and did my share of work to strengthen my muscles and limbs in self understanding, healing and mindfulness work.

To support journeyers, become self reliant and sustain their long journey, he operates strongly from a space that while self quest/journey is an individual journey, it becomes more meaningful when taken with a community of journeyers.

Diyanat’s facilitation broke my long held belief that self work is only inner work, done through meditation alone. His facilitation, enabled me see how self work permeates through working with one’s body, childhood socialization, unknowingly held beliefs and perceptions, aspirations, needs and motivation, fears and traumas passed on from earlier generations. As a result I am able to have a very wholesome, inclusive, interdependent experience of self and self work.

- Dr. Anita Dagar, Phd

Experiencing walks with Diyanat has always been enriching experience in many ways. Beauty lies in the meaningfulness that Diyanat brings to the journey. I have been working with top corporate for more than 20 years now and say for sure that these experiences are uncommon, infrequent, and go beyond the realm of everyday life. These walks transformed me to lead a better, healthier and happier life. To know who you really are, to converse with thy true self, to access true and full potential, to find essence and purpose of life and to find the key to real happiness… are few amongst many benefits of Journey, I have experienced. Each step of the journey, each breath is like crafting your true self. Crafting off what is unreal, what you are not and crafting your real self.

-Anup Talwar.

My Name is Satarupa Banerjee. I joined selfcraft for delving deep into Self and finding meaning and purpose of my Existence.

I was part of the first batch of Self Craft, and I feel blessed being a traveler and a participant of this Journey.

The Self Craft Journey was of 9 days. It was a combination of trekking, scrambling, long walks with resting phases in between in the wilderness. It had three phases viz. Departure, Passaging and Arrival. Each day we covered around 7 to 8 kms , followed by rituals, spiritual practices, journaling, group discussions and reflective circle sessions.

Each day carried it's own essence with several Laws and Standards of Spirituality that brought an exemplary shift inside me. It gave me clarity between Pain and Suffering. In the process of self work, there was healing and inner alignment towards crafting a different "Me". The process was exhaustive, sometimes challenging and always joyful. The physical, emotional, psychological, physiological, spiritual development happened through an intense cosmic connection.

Nature is our teacher and that's where I rediscovered the lost me. Everything is within. It is in the act of Being Aware that I learnt Life more closely. In our long walks in Noble Silence, Surrendering to Power, Accepting and Allowing things as is, Letting go, Being Responsible, Exercising Gratitude etc. helped me reclaim myself. I also learnt the importance of Silence as a means to Self Expression.

The way Diyanat facilitated the program, was more of an Inspirational Servant leader in his Presence. The guided meditations, morning and evening rituals in circles, paved a way towards deepening the inner journey.

Diyanat supported each of us through one on one discussions and holding space safely for the group. Learning the Laws of Spirituality became key tools in polishing my Personality and also incorporating them in my daily rituals for better balance in life.

Using metaphors during this Journey with our real life, was exemplary. That helped me introspect and create changes within. During this journey, the Best part that happened to me was overcoming my phobia of heights. Diyanat as a facilitator has been an enabler in uplifting my inner spirit and helping me face my fears, create calmness within and grow holistically.

The Self Craft journey is not over. It has just begun and I am continuously crafting my "Self "every day, based on my learning from the Journey.

My significant learnings from selfcraft were Self Discovery , inner healing, understanding my Being and this is a continuous process for me now. I strongly recommend others to join as it will enhance their life state through crafting their Self and discovering themselves holistically.

Satarupa Banerjee

The facilitator-coach profession is inhabited by people with different mindsets. One doesn't always encounter practitioners whose purpose is to help their fellow human. Nor does one regularly encounter practitioners who keep working on themselves and their craft.
Diyanat is among that rare breed that is both passionate about helping people and honing his own craft.
His latest "SelfCraft" expedition is something I am quite enthused by.

Assumptions and Basic Premise for Selfcraft Journey

Every Human can only heal themselves; no one else can heal others. In other words, therapists, coaches, mentors and guides may help people, but primarily people only heal themselves. No one else can solve our fundamental life problems, and I am not intending to take such a task with selfcraft, no one can. My ultimate intention with selfcraft is to be in service so that you may help yourself,  be responsible and accountable for yourself and ready to walk through the difficult path of self awareness, self realisation and self transformation.

Everyone has the potential for vitality and wholesomeness, but for many of us these are hard to actualize. However, having a growth mindset, a right learning and conducive environment and the right guide can bring us closer to materializing them.

As a facilitator of selfcraft, I am the participants friend, supporter, and guide. I try, to the best of my ability, to support the participants to discover himself, herself or themself, to heal inner wounds, to let go of false beliefs, and to resolve inner conflicts and problems, without imposing my own beliefs or approaches. Freedom, Choice, Integrity and Authenticity is part an integrated part of my facilitation.

I only serve a way to freedom and that includes being free of anything that I offer. freedom from anything and everything, to be boundless in the vastness of inner and outer life. To take self responsibility  to choose your way and path, to follow the longings of your heart and arrive at wherever you want to be.

My role as facilitator and journey guide of selfcraft is to support and assist participants in reaching their own goals. The achievements of each participant depends primarily on their own effort, motivation, commitment and responsibility. I only attempt to create a safe learning environment and cannot predict or guarantee that participants will attain any particular results, and the results differ for each individual participants. Each participants results depend on his or her unique background, dedication, desire, motivation, actions, and numerous other factors.

My role as a guide is to be there by your side, to accompany you on this journey back home, to your own truth, to your own soul through holding a sacred space in which your intentions and energy can shift with the flow of life and that which serves you best.

Nothing in selfcraft is intended to be a substitute for professional psychological, psychiatric or medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment in any form. You are invited to participate in this journey out of your own free choice and self responsibility. Participants joining a journey will have to sign a legal disclaimer assuming all risks and  consequences of joining the selfcraft program at their own cost and peril.
